hey all: I have a tourist visa and waiting for I-130 approval. Am I allowed to actually travel to US on tourist visa whilst waiting for approval? If so, did you get some trouble when entering US borders? Thanks!

We are trying to fill out the DS-260 but the section for “City of Birth” needs 3 more characters to match the city on my applicants documents.

Our options seem to be to shorten “San” to “S.” or leave the last few letters of the city off?

I am writing to you in hopes that you can shed some light on our situation. I am not very familiar with US taxes or the IRS, so please bear with me.

My wife is preparing to submit our Adjustment of Status (AOS) and tax returns to the National Visa Center (NVC). However, we have noticed a few issues.

First, the most recent tax return that my wife has is for 2020-2021. We are just over the income threshold by about $200. Will this be a problem?

Second, we just realized that her accountant filed her taxes under her previous surname and as single. She was waiting for her new Social Security card to come in with her new surname. Are we okay to submit these taxes, or should we wait to get her taxes up to date for this year before we upload anything to NVC?

As a side note, we got married and I returned to the UK to wait out the I-130. Should this matter if my wife files married but separately?

I hope this makes sense. I apologize that I am not very knowledgeable about this process.

I am a US citizen and my husband is a foreign national. He was previously in the US on an F-1 student visa, but he overstayed his visa by 4 years. He then returned to his home country without being deported. We got married in his home country last year and have been living together ever since. We are now planning on applying for an IR1/CR1 visa so that he can move to the US with me.

I am concerned that he may be subject to a 10-year ban on re-entering the US due to his visa overstay. However, I have read that people in similar situations have had different outcomes. Some people have been able to get a visa without any problems, while others have been denied.

I would like to know if you can provide any information about whether my husband will be subject to a 10-year ban. I would also like to know if there is anything we can do to increase his chances of getting a visa.
